Adopt a School

The concept of making school a better place than home is an incredibly easy thing to do. With this there will be a natural migration to school with attendance increasing and more children realizing their short term dreams and finishing Grade 1. Find out more

Thanks to Enduro Africa Riders 2010 - Ride Two

2010-11-22

Dear Enduro Africa Participants 2010

It was great riding with you guys in my back yard….the Wild Coast. I truly
love my country and your support for all that we do was visible and for that I
thank you. I trust that you also thoroughly enjoyed your time in South
Africa, not only the riding, but also the charity aspect which forms such a
large part of my life.
The Grade R classroom at Gojela School which you visited, was refurbished
during ride one. Thank you for spending time with the kids and helping them
move to their new classroom and handing out their new educational toys.

Thank you for giving me your contact email addresses, I trust that you will
be happy to receive information from time to time on our projects and needs,
so that you will be able to see where you can continue to assist our charity.

This is the second year that Touch Africa will be receiving funding from this
ride and I am sure as you have all experienced our brand at grass roots, you
now know that every cent of the donation we are set to receive, will be put
to extremely good use and make a tangible long lasting difference to those
schools who will now be able to receive our assistance. You may be
interested to learn that a minimum of 70% of our funding is ploughed
directly into our projects. The balance is used to fund salaries, office costs
and administration.

Many riders from previous years are now our strongest ambassadors around
the world. Many past riders pledged additional funding and today through
their generosity and continued monthly or annual assistance, are helping us
to ensure that more and more school rehabilitation projects are able to be
rolled out effectively.

I made a commitment to Luanda at Mcgawezulu
School to do 3 things and I really need your help in
doing so.

1. Build a netball court for the girls
2. A soccer field for the boys
3. A Grade R classroom

THANK YOU to the 2 guys who have sponsored the Netball court, they want
to remain anonymous and I respect that. To do the other 2 projects i.e. new
classroom and soccer field we need about 20 000 pounds and would love to
deliver this in the 1st quarter of next year.

Some of those riders have put us in contact with schools in the UK, who have
now adopted schools that are on our books. Our recent registration as a UK
charity and Gift Aid registration will also assist in ensuring that funding and
projects maintain momentum. We will shortly have a UK centric website
which is being handled by our UK representative and past Enduro Africa rider
Richard Cook. If you would like to get in touch with Richard, his email
contact is richard@arnel.co.uk

Till we meet again!

Thank You
Mike Glover
