Enduro Africa Funding to Change Lives

Posted about 7 months ago

The fourth Enduro Africa off road motorbike charity ride took place in October between the 3rd – 25th.

More than 180 international riders took part in this annual event, which raises funds for various charities including the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund, UNICEF, Sentebale (Lesotho) and most recently Touch Africa, who are set to receive a minimum of R500 000. This donation will be used to roll out the Adopt a School programme to thousands of children around South Africa. Watch our website www.touchafrica.info during the course of 2010 to see the progress as it happens.

The Enduro Africa riders not only come to South Africa to have fun on their bikes, they are also committed to making a real and lasting difference in the lives of our communities. To this end they spend two days rehabilitating schools along the route on which they travel in the Transkei. This year, four schools benefited from their hard work. Many of the riders have pledged to return home and continue raising funds to ensure the continuation of assistance to these needy schools. They have truly become “Friends of Touch Africa” through this project.

Touch Africa’s Adopt a School programme is sustainable, transparent and has longevity. We strive to continue to ensure that children are given back their dignity and provided with opportunities to learn and grow that they would otherwise not have had.

Grateful thanks to all those involved in Enduro Africa and Global Enduro, who market this charitable initiative into Europe.
