Mogotwane Junior Secondary School
One of the poorest schools that Touch Africa has been privileged to assist, is run by a exemplary headmaster, who has been teaching his charges in appalling conditions for many years.
This community is situated in a largely forgotten rural area of the Transkei, with limited work opportunities and large numbers of orphaned children.
Together with dedicated sponsors Abercorn School (UK) and Bonitas the process of demolishing the crumbling mud huts has begun and the first solid classroom structure has been erected.
Two Grades are currently being housed in one classroom, which makes teaching and learning difficult.
Continued support of this school will ensure that in time to come, the entire school will be transformed and these children, who would otherwise have had no hope for the future, will have the chance to become educated citizens who can contribute to their community and society at large.
Determination, hope and a humble approach are descriptive of the members of this small rural community. Further support for this school is needed and encouraged by us, as we are 100% sure that any investment in this school will be well maintained and greatly appreciated.
