Mrs Port Elizabeth Pageant set to invest in building a crèche

Launched in 2005, by Juanita Smit of RoleModels Pageants, the Mrs Port Elizabeth event, has become a life altering experience for contestants as well as the charities that benefit and the local businesses who become involved.

The selection criteria for the 20 finalists each year include leadership potential, positive attitude, optimistic world view, confidence and the desire to serve her community. Coupled with these qualities, participants must also be well groomed, presentable, and live a healthy lifestyle.

Apart from the training and preparation the participants undergo for the final evening, they also work tirelessly for the charities that benefit from the event.

This year Touch Africa, a Red Cherry Adventures initiative, is very honored to have been chosen to benefit. Our project is the building of a crèche in the impoverished Walmer Township in Port Elizabeth. As we believe that every child has the right to education and our motto being “making school a better place” we are sure that the efforts the ladies put into this project are going to make an enormous difference.

They all have our permission to fundraise on our behalf.
