Elmor Primary School – Willomore
Situated in the dry and dusty town of Willomore, the Elmor Primary School has an enrolment of 1200 learners. Many of these young children had to walk up to 8km per day to and from school in extreme heat or cold. Exhausted by the time they got to school children found it hard to concentrate and parents worried about their safety on the journey to and from school. With the help of Sanlam/Takalani Sesame, an old school bus which had been donated to the school by a benevolent community member has been rehabilitated. The bus is currently undergoing some maintenance work in Port Elizabeth and will shortly be back on the road to ferry the children to and from school. Public donations would be greatly appreciated to subsidize the repairs to the bus. All queries and donations to be directed to
